Alliance College-Ready Public Schools Graduation Requirements
Alliance high school graduation requirements are in alignment with the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) "A-G" minimum undergraduate admissions requirements.

Graduation Requirements Years Required Credits Required Important Notes/ Recommendations
A: History/Social Science 3 years 30 credits World History, U.S. History, Economics & Government
B: English/Language Arts 4 years 40 credits 9th-12th grade
C: Mathematics 3 years 30 credits 4+ years recommended
D: Laboratory Science 2 years 20 credits 3-4 years recommended (1 year of biological science and 1 year of physical science)
E: Language other than English 2 years 20 credits 3+ years recommended
F: Visual and Performing Arts 1 year 10 credits 2 semesters of the same VPA
G: College Prep Elective 1 year 10 credits Can be met by taking a class from this particular category or completing an additional year beyond minimum requirement in A-F categories
Advisory 4 years 20 credits 2.5 credits each semester
Electives (including additional "A-G" courses) --- 50 credits P.E., CAHSEE Prep, Resource Lab, etc.
TOTAL 230

In order to receive a high school diploma, Alliance high school students must complete the following:

  1. Earn a minimum of 230 credits
  2. Pass both parts (English and Math) of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)
  3. Pass all courses with a grade of C or higher (basic proficiency)

In order to participate in the graduation ceremony at Alliance College-Ready Academy High School #16, students must complete the following in addition to the above requirements:

  1. 40 hours of community service
  2. As seniors, apply to five college campuses from two different systems
  3. As seniors, apply to a minimum of 6 scholarships
